What is Decentraland?
Decentraland (MANA) is a decentralised virtual reality platform built on Ethereum, launched publicly in February 2020. Users can purchase parcels of virtual land (called LAND) as NFTs, build 3D experiences on them, host events, run virtual businesses, and interact with other users in the shared virtual world. Major brands including Samsung, JPMorgan, and Coca-Cola have established virtual presences in Decentraland.
MANA serves as the in-world currency - used to purchase LAND, wearables (avatar fashion items), and services from other users.
